In-House Data Protection Counsel – FTSE 50 Business

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a data protection lawyer to support this household name business advising the UK business and providing central support to the EMEA business
As a member of the regulatory team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the relevant legislative requirements and changes in the UK and Ireland.
- Keeping up to date with changes in regulation and advising the business appropriately
- Identifying and advising on data protection risks and regulatory requirements
- Ensuring compliance throughout sales processes, product launches, suppliers of outsourced services
- Verifying compliance issues regarding new and existing business practices, corporate governance and data protection risk management
- Supporting the team re FCA related contractual matters (direct debit rules etc)
Preferably you will have strong academics, robust data protection experience within a commercial environment and be prepared to be fully immersed in a challenging role. You must possess good communication skills and be able to provide succinct, straightforward explanations of regulatory matters, along with clear reporting and helpful advice on compliance and data protection issues across the business.
